“Teachers who LOVE teaching, teach children to LOVE learning.”
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Hello! My name is Tina Stevenson. I was born and raised in Monett, Missouri; a small town not far from Springfield. As a young student, I explored the idea of a teaching degree but my love of words and writing lead me to Missouri State University (or SMSU as I knew it) to develop myself as a journalist. After college, I found my dream job as a freelance writer and then editor in chief of a regional bridal publication. Shortly after my husband, Justin, and I were married we decided to have a family. I changed hats from editor to mother and stayed home to raise my three children- Andrew (15), Claire (12) and Kate (6). Five years ago, I began teaching pre-kindergarten at a local preschool. I fell head over heels in love with not only the children but also with teaching. It was as if I was always supposed to find my way into this field. I’ve also taught PSR (Parish School of Religion) courses for preschoolers through first graders at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for four years. When I’m not taking Andrew to the golf course or Claire/Kate to dance class, I find myself volunteering with various non-profits throughout our community. I also love to travel and explore new cities, cultures and cuisine.
I look forward to carrying on the traditions and legacy of Fiction, Facts and Fun that Terri has created over the years. Our community is a better place because of her and our children have received the most outstanding enrichment education that Springfield has ever offered. She has the most gigantic shoes to fill but I’m up to the challenge! It’s only with her support that I find myself here. I hope to share my passion for reading, writing, math and science with your child as we ignite their own passions into learning.
I’m looking forward to meeting all of the Fiction, Facts and Fun families as we begin a new academic year together.
Can’t wait to meet you,
