Summer Schedule 2018



Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom: This class will keep us moving! An introduction to shapes, colors and the alphabet while developing our motor, language, cognitive and social skills. We’ll move and groove to the music as we learn all about the world around us. Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom, I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!

Super Science Summer Series: Kids LOVE science and in this science summer series there is something for everyone! They will be challenged in engineering while completing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) challenges, building robots with recycled materials and don’t forget concoctions in the science lab! It will be a summer to remember!

Reading Bootcamp: Summer has finally arrived but our brains need to continue moving forward with reading! Use this school break to build fluency, sight words, reading comprehension, and writing skills in this session. Boost your child’s confidence in their reading ability and be one step ahead for a new school year!

Kindergarten Prep: Kindergarten is not what it used to be! Children will get a jump start into kindergarten this summer. Reading, math, motor skills, and science will be the weekly activities. Children will also participate in fun and wacky learning games and music movements. Alleviate any fears about kindergarten with one of FFF’s most popular sessions!

Fractured Fairytales: Fairytales take on a whole new life in this creative class! Fractured fairytales are modified folk tales told in an unexpected way to make us laugh and teach us a new viewpoint from a familiar story such as The Stinky Cheese Man and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. Kids will be introduced to silly stories then rewrite or act out their own version from a different point of view using puppets or even themselves as the characters. It will leave us rolling in laughter with sore abdominals! This reading class is a bit out of the box but oh, so fun!

Coding 101: Coding (or computer programming) is a new type of literacy. In this hands-on and screen-free class, kids will learn to solve problems, design projects and develop sequencing skills that are the foundation for academic success. We’ll secretly sharpen their critical thinking, reading, writing and math skills while learning how to use binary codes to build Lego mazes and create fun projects using STEM building! You don’t have to be a gamer (or boy) to enjoy this class!

To Spend or Not to Spend (Money Skills): Money, Money, Money! This financial literacy class will teach even the youngest kids about earning, saving, spending and budgeting. Kids will use real-world situations (such as paying unexpected expenses to finding creative ways to earn money and set savings goals) to teach young children about managing their own money. Complete tasks to earn “money” to fund the lemonade stand we’ll have on the last day! Proceeds benefit IPOURLIFE (

Kid’s Iron Chef: Are you the next Bobby Flay or Cat Cora? Tighten your apron, wash your hands and let’s get to cooking! Battle other legendary FFF chefs while working with a “secret” ingredient to create delicious recipes that will be judged by a special panel. Kids LOVE to cook and they won’t be disappointed in this class while they use life skills in the kitchen such as reading and math. Everyone wins in this battle as we taste test all of our creations!

Second-Sixth Grade

Tuesdays, 1-3; June 5-June 26 (4 classes)

The Next Generation of Entrepreneurs: In this business class, explore the world of entrepreneurship through our partnership with Askinosie Chocolate. Students will break into teams to create a heart map (learn about their interests and how to translate those interests into a career), then they will produce an Askinosie chocolate based product and introduce it to our "market" using their newly created marketing materials such as a logo, printed materials and even packaging. Students will take a private tour of the Askinosie Chocolate Factory (described as "one of 7 great chocolate factory tours" by USA Today) and peek into the secret world of chocolate making. They'll also learn about the Askinosie Direct Trade practices, Chocolate University and how they make chocolate from bean to bar plus sample chocolate along the way! The session will conclude with a bake sale presented by the new “companies” with all profits donated to Askinosie Chocolate University.  

Second-Sixth Grade

Tuesdays, 1-3; July 10-Aug 7 (5 classes; Parents will be consulted regarding factory tour time/date)

Case of the Missing Vowel: Help! The letters are in crisis! Learning to read has never been so entertaining. Kids will have so much fun as vowels turn into superheroes and save the consonants! Letters and sounds will come alive in this fun-filled reading adventure. Children will learn phonic rules that will be remembered for a lifetime. Dip, Dot, Splatter: MaryAnn F. Rohl once said, “Art is as natural as sunshine and as vital as nourishment.” Children need an opportunity to explore the world through imagination and art. Kids will paint, draw and create in this super fun session. It is essential children have the opportunity to enhance both the right and left sides of the brain. Grab your pencils, paints and bring your imagination to this creative class.

Avoid Summer Soggy Brain: Mental stimulation improves brain function and actually protects against cognitive decline. Current research states the majority of children lose an average of 2.6 months of knowledge over the summer. How do you prevent this from happening? Attend “Avoid Soggy Summer Brain!” Reading activities, math puzzles, mystery solving, code breakers and much more will be the focus of this session. Keep the brain fired up this summer.

Meet the Quirkles: Those silly Quirkles have taken over FFF! Each class will introduce two letter characters as well as a science concept. There will be many hands on science experiments in every class to incorporate letters, reading and science! Children will have so much fun; they won’t even know they are learning!

Reading Rainbow: FFF has a new mascot and I need your help in choosing his name! Kids love learning from puppets and I have a feeling this little guy will be a bit mischievous! Come learn concepts such as letters, numbers, writing and basic reading comprehension skills. The kids won’t be able to contain their laughter and will be tuned into reading and learning!

Three and Four year olds

Can we build it? YES, we can!: By now, everyone is familiar with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). What better way to learn these concepts than to create and test them? Kids will stretch their imaginations to build towers, bridges, skylines, marble mazes and more in this STEM class. The perfect session for kids who think outside the box!

Girls Rule the World: This is for GIRLS ONLY! It’s ok to be girly and smart! Let’s raise our girls to be confident, independent and strong! Learn about strong female role models from sciences to politics. Leave this session reassured that you can change the world. Mix up some science potions and concoctions in the lab that you can take home! Girls just wanna have fun in this girly, science session!

Marty’s Magic Class: Children of all ages can get a behind the scenes look into the art of magic, with Marty the Magician’s, “Magic Workshop.” In this highly interactive 90 minute class, students will learn 9 different magic tricks that they can perform! Just a few of the highlights include: guessing the color someone is thinking of, making a plastic fish spring to life, predicting the answer to a mystery involving famous destinations and learning the secret to the “Two Card Trick.” It’s loads of fun! Plus, everyone will receive a copy of Marty’s “Cool Magic Tricks You Can Do” book, with 15 more easy to learn tricks that use simple household items. And, every student will also receive the exciting and mystifying “Rising Magic Wand!” All of the supplies are included with the class, so students can practice and entertain right away!

Cupcake Wars: It’s cupcake vs cupcake in FFF’s tastiest competition yet! Kids will divide into groups to face off in elimination challenges until only one team remains and takes home the frosting (or crown..but frosting takes better)! Groups will use all of their skills in making, decorating and presenting their cupcakes! Cupcakes will be showcased for a special panel of judges. A sweet prize awaits the winning team!

The Reptile Experience: Experience the excitement of having a Reptile Zoo come to you! This is truly a unique and thrilling way to have hands on involvement with some of the world’s largest reptiles, but do so in a completely safe environment. The reptiles brought to you by one of the areas most experienced handlers, Serengeti Steve, with over 20 year’s experience! Steve was also an America’s Got Talent Vegas finalist and is a member of the Guinness Book of World Record’s! Guaranteed to be an awe inspiring and fun filled show! Don’t miss this event!
