Class Descriptions and Fees
Winter/Spring - 2012 Schedule:
Fee - $24 per 90 minute session (refer to program
schedule for one day session fees).
Enrollment Fee - $35 nonrefundable *enrollment fee due at the time of
registration.

MONDAYS
Noggin Zappers-Research shows
“bright” children are unchallenged the majority of the school day.
Noggin Zappers addresses this issue by providing kids with a
rigorous curriculum, proving to be great fun. Word problems, logic
puzzles, divergent thinking games, science experiments, and mysteries
are only a sampling of the many brain exercises. Come get zapped at
Fiction, Facts, & Fun!

TUESDAYS
Readville - A
Fiction, Facts, & Fun exclusive! Children will travel through a tunnel
to reach the imaginary kingdom of Readville. They will discover Vowel
Village, Rhyming Road, Bossy R Boulevard, Word City, and so much more!
Weekly visits will be made the King and Queen of Readville. Reading
games, art, cooking, and science will all be happening in Kingdom
Readville. Learning to read has NEVER been more fun!

Preschool and Kindergarten

Beyond ABC's -
Enrich preschool and kindergarten kids in a whole new way! Young
learners need to be challenged beyond the ABC's. Beginning lessons in
deductive reasoning, problem solving, and cooperative team building will
be part of this session! Kids will have a blast as they work on
reading, math, writing, problem solving, and critical thinking!

beginning September 6 thru May 15 (Children can bring a lunch and eat
from 12:00-12:30. Class begins at 12:30.)
KinKidz - It's time to
get serious about kindergarten. Many kindergarteners need more
learning challenges than the traditional kindergarten curriculum
offers. KinKidz can help! Higher level reading and math
skills will be enhanced through creative innovations, critical thinking,
problem-solving, scavenger hunts, and collaboration. Children will
learn physics by building bridges, flying planes, and creating amazing
science experiments! What a great way to challenge young learners while
they are having fun.

Ready, Set, Read!
- Children are approaching the final stretch of the school year. They
will cross the finish line strong with Ready, Set, Read. This
curriculum is intense in the reading and language arts areas. Writing,
word decoding, comprehension, and sequencing are some of the skills that
will be explored. Reading is fundamental to all other skills. Let's
work together to create the strongest foundation possible.

Boom,
Buzz, Blast! -
Boys, this one is for you! Space, rockets, planets, gravity, and motion
will be explored in the most fun, creative ways. Yes, boys, we will
play "Booger" Ball! Parents, don't ask! I can assure you, boys,
Boom, Buzz, Blast will be ANYTHING but boring!

WEDNESDAYS
Meet the Quirkles and
More! Calling all three and four year olds to Quirksville. Come
and see what the excitement is about! The Quirkles will land at
Fiction, Facts, & Fun in September. Each Quirkle introduces a letter,
word family, and science activity. You know the kids are learning
advanced concepts; they know they are having fun!

The Magic Carpet -
Children will go on a magical adventure each week. Reading, math,
writing, and science will be explored as the kids travel through various
lands. Kids will discover facts about each continent as they let their
imaginations run wild. The Magic Carpet is ready for adventure! Let's
get ready to go!

Beat the midweek doldrums with Witty
Wednesdays! These are short-term class offerings for the remainder
of the 2012

Hollywood Here We Come! Fiction,
Facts, & Fun
is thrilled to be hosting Springfield Little Theatre introductory
workshop. Students will participate in theatre games, improvisation,
and integration exercises. They will also explore the fundamentals of
theatre and performance through character exploration, storytelling,
movement, and dance! Guaranteed fun and laughter for all!

Chick Challengers -
(Part 2)
- We had too much fun not to bring the chicks back! It's
a fact; girls are just as good in math as boys, yet research proves
fewer girls are pursuing mathematical careers. Why? Girls have math
anxiety! Chick Challengers will address this issue. Math challenges,
girl talk, role playing, and some dazzling diva science activities will
make this session a hit! Come and experience Fiction, Facts, &
Fun in a whole new way!

Wednesdays, 3:45-5:15 - February 1 thru March 28
"Biz" Bodies - Who is
going to be the next Steve Jobs? Research tells us creative,
"outside the box" thinking is learned behavior. Biz Bodies
will provide children the opportunity to be young entrepreneurs.
They will create products, learn about money management, develop ads,
and enhance leadership skills. Are they too young . . . NO!
This class will be a hit!

sessions)
Picasso Who? -
(Session Two-New Artists will be studied) Kids
in the United States are in the midst of a creative crisis. Involvement
in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive
ability, critical thinking, and verbal skills. They will discover
various modes of art for self expression. Budding artist will be
delighted as they paint, draw, experiment with color and texture and
much more! It may not be the Louvre, but it's the next best thing! A
great way to "unleash" creative energy!

THURSDAYS
Mind Stretchers and Study
Skills - Sounds boring...it's not! Mind Stretchers will focus on
note taking, organizational skills, test taking tips, and much more! A
learning assessment will be given at the beginning of session to
determine learning styles. This is a must for older students!
